Introduction
You've just seen a website that made you stop scrolling. Smooth 3D, playful motion, a story that unfolds as you move your mouse. Then you check the footer, see "Unseen Studio", and wonder two things at once: could they do this for my brand, and are they actually legit?
Unseen Studio is a Bristol-based brand, digital and motion studio, co-founded by Tom Anderson and Nathan Riley. It has won 26 Awwwards Sites of the Day and 3 Sites of the Month, and has worked with names like ESPN, The New York Times, Warner Records and the Chicago Bulls.
As a designer, I looked at what Unseen does, how good the work really is, what it might cost and who it suits. And if you landed here searching "Unseen Studios Erfahrungen" or "Unseen Studios Trustpilot", there's a section below just for you, because you may be looking for a completely different company.
The Short Answer: Is Unseen Studio Worth It?
Yes, if you want an award-level, immersive website or brand experience and have a proper custom budget. If you need a simple marketing site, fast turnaround or low cost, a smaller studio will serve you better.

How I Wrote This Review
First, a heads-up: I run my own small design and no-code studio. So I could be one of the options you compare with Unseen, though at a very different scale. I've tried to be fair and I'll say clearly where Unseen is the stronger choice.
I haven't hired Unseen Studio. On October 31, 2026, I reviewed its Awwwards profile, its Bristol Creative Industries listing, directory profiles on DesignRush and Sortlist, the Awwwards Conference speaker page for its founders and its own journal, Unread. I also checked Trustpilot to understand the German "Unseen Studios" searches. Then I reviewed the work as a hands-on designer.
What Is Unseen Studio?
Unseen Studio (often written Unseen Studios, with its site at unseen.co) describes itself as a studio for brand, digital and motion. It aims to create "refreshingly unexpected ideas and striking visuals" for brands that want to stand out.
Here are the basics:
Founders: Tom Anderson, Co-Founder and Creative Director, and Nathan Riley, Co-Founder and Design Director. Riley taught himself to build websites nearly 20 years ago and now focuses on 3D and immersive work.
Founded: 2012, according to the Awwwards Conference and Sortlist. DesignRush says 2010.
Location: 35a Colston Avenue, Bristol, per Bristol Creative Industries. DesignRush also lists a London address.
Team size: reports differ: 17 on Sortlist, 11โ50 on Creative Lives in Progress and 50โ99 on DesignRush. My guess is a small to mid-size senior team, but ask.
Awards: Bristol Creative Industries says 50+ awards, including Awwwards Studio of the Year. CSS Design Awards named its Organimo site Website of the Month.
Earlier name: directory web addresses and older Google reviews use the name "Green Chameleon", which suggests the studio traded under that name before. I couldn't confirm this from the studio itself.
Is it the same as "Unseen" the game studio?
No. There's also UNSEEN, a video game studio founded by Ikumi Nakamura. It's unrelated to Unseen Studio in Bristol.
Looking for "Unseen Studios" Erfahrungen? You May Mean a Different Company
Lots of people find this page by searching in German: "Unseen Studios Erfahrungen", "Unseen Studios Bewertung", "Ist Unseen Studios seriรถs?" or "Unseen Studios Trustpilot". Most of them are probably looking for Unseen Studios, an online clothing store in Germany, not the Bristol design studio.
Here's how to tell them apart:
Unseen Studio (this review) | Unseen Studios (German store) | |
|---|---|---|
What it is | Brand, digital and motion design studio | Online streetwear and clothing shop |
Website | unseen.co | unseen-studios.de |
Location | Bristol, UK | Hamburg, Germany (address on its site) |
Sells | Custom design projects | Hoodies, pants, tops, footwear |
What Trustpilot says about the German store: on October 31, 2026, Unseen Studios on Trustpilot had a TrustScore of 3.1 out of 5 from 17 reviews. They were split almost evenly: 47% 5-star and 53% 1-star. Positive reviews mention fast delivery and good fit. Negative reviews mention thin fabric, wrong sizes, long delivery times, slow refunds and claims that items were shipped from China. Trustpilot notes it doesn't verify reviews, and some reviewers questioned whether the 5-star reviews are genuine.
I'm a designer, not a fashion reviewer, so I can't judge the clothing. If you meant the store, Trustpilot and the store's own terms are the places to check. If you meant the design studio, keep reading.
What Services Does Unseen Studio Offer?
Unseen groups its work into brand, digital and motion. Directory profiles add 3D, creative direction and innovation. Here's what that means in practice:
Service | What it means | Example |
|---|---|---|
Brand identity | Logo, visual system and creative direction | A bold new identity for a wellness brand |
Immersive websites | Interactive sites with 3D, WebGL and motion | A scroll-driven product story |
Motion design | Animation for web, social and launches | A launch film or animated brand system |
3D and visual experiments | Procedural visuals and 3D scenes | Generated visuals for a campaign |
Web development | Building the experiences in-house | Smooth, custom front-end builds |
Digital campaigns | Microsites for launches and events | A one-off site for a sports campaign |
Its journal mentions procedurally generated visuals, optical flow experiments and flower generation workflows. That tells you the team enjoys creative technology, not just layouts.
How Much Does Unseen Studio Cost?
Unseen Studio doesn't publish prices. DesignRush lists both its minimum budget and hourly rate as "Inquire", and I didn't find a reliable public quote.
Project type | Pricing | What to know |
|---|---|---|
Immersive website | Custom quote | 3D and motion add design and development time |
Brand identity | Custom quote | Ask whether rollout assets are included |
Motion and launch films | Custom quote | Priced by length and complexity |
Campaign microsite | Custom quote | Often fixed-scope, short-lived |
Ongoing support | Custom quote | Confirm who maintains the site after launch |
The main catch: you're paying for craft and custom code
Award-winning immersive sites take many weeks of design, 3D work and custom development. That's why studios at this level quote per project, and why the cost is usually well above a template or no-code site. That's my opinion as a designer, not a published Unseen figure.
A worked example: how to scope a project
Say you're launching a premium skincare product and want an interactive launch site.
Define the "wow" moment. One strong 3D product scene often beats five effects.
Separate the parts. Ask for brand, website and launch film priced as separate lines.
Plan for performance. Ask how the site will load on a mid-range phone.
Plan for updates. Ask which parts your team can edit later, and which need a developer.
If the quote is beyond your budget, you can often get 80% of the impact with a simpler site and one well-made motion piece.
What Do Clients Say?
Unseen doesn't have a meaningful profile on Clutch or Trustpilot. DesignRush shows a 5.0 rating from 8 Google reviews, but only four are visible, dated 2016โ2024, and three of them mention "Green Chameleon" or "GC" rather than Unseen. Sortlist shows no reviews.
The stronger proof is peer recognition: 26 Sites of the Day, 3 Sites of the Month and 38 Honorable Mentions on Awwwards, plus CSS Design Awards and an invitation to speak at the Awwwards Conference.
That shows top-tier craft. It doesn't tell you about deadlines, communication or budgets. Ask for a reference from a client with a similar project.
Is Unseen Studio Legit?
Yes. The Bristol design studio is legit. It has named co-founders, a public studio address, a long Awwwards record, conference talks, its own journal and work for well-known brands.
Remember, the German clothing store with a similar name is a separate business. If you're asking "ist Unseen Studios seriรถs?" about the store, check its Trustpilot reviews and terms directly.
My Honest Design Opinion
I'll be honest: Unseen's work is genuinely impressive. Its sites feel playful and handmade, even when they use heavy 3D. The motion has rhythm, the type is confident and the color choices feel fresh rather than trendy. Sites like Organimo show a team that enjoys creating little worlds, not just pages.
But immersive sites have trade-offs. They can be heavy on phones, harder for search engines to read and tricky for your team to update. That's fine for a launch or a flagship brand moment. It's less ideal for a site that needs weekly content changes or strong SEO.
My tip: decide what the site must do first. If it's to make people feel something at launch, Unseen is a great fit. If it's to rank on Google and generate leads every month, ask how they'll balance the experience with speed, SEO and easy editing.

A Quick Note About Me
I'm Subarno, and I run a small design and no-code studio. I can't build what Unseen builds. Full 3D worlds and launch films aren't my thing. But if you want a clean, fast site your team can update, plus some tasteful animation, I might be a better fit for your budget.
My $1,000/month retainer covers:
website design in Figma,
website builds in Framer or Webflow,
branding for smaller businesses, like logos, colors and brand guides,
small website animations and interactions,
banners, posters and social media content.
You work with me directly, with no hourly billing. Book a free 30-minute call or say hello through my contact page. If you need award-level 3D, I'll be the first to say Unseen is the better call.
Final Verdict: Is Unseen Studio Worth It?
Unseen Studio is a legit, award-winning Bristol studio with real talent in brand, motion and immersive web. For a flagship launch or a brand that wants to be remembered, it's one of the strongest studios in the UK.
Go in with clear goals. There's no public pricing, immersive work costs more to build and maintain, and company details vary between directories. And if you were searching for the German clothing store, that's a different business, so check its own reviews.
